09 Nov Salon Visage hosts donation drive to support the affected by Hurricane Sandy
Salon Visage has announced that they will be collecting items to support those affected by Hurricane Sandy, and is working with Christie & Co Salon, located directly within the heart of the storm damage to distribute needed items.
Lois Christie, the president of Intercoiffure America/Canada owns Christie & Co Salon in Bayside, New York. Her salon is located directly in a hard-hit region of Queens that doesn’t have a local Red Cross collection area. Christie is working with her local councilman and community newspapers to collect and distribute needed items.
“I have a lot of friends and colleagues in New York, and the pictures we’ve seen in the news simply don’t do justice to the pain and challenges many people are facing,” states Frank Gambuzza, co-owner of The Visage Group. “We want to do what we can to help these people get back on their feet.”
“We will be shipping items to New York several times between now and mid-December,” adds Belinda Gambuzza, co-owner of The Visage Group. “We’re hoping to be completely overwhelmed with donations, and we’ll be honored to cover the shipping and logistics challenges of having items delivered where they’re needed.”
What’s needed: Items such as blankets, warm clothing, shampoos, conditioners, baby products and toiletries will help those who are in desperate need.
Items can be dropped off at Salon Visage, Spa Visage, Studio Visage, or Frank’s Barbershop. They will then be shipped to Christie & Co Salon where local authorities are collecting and distributing the items.
